What we are — and what we aren't.

We'd rather over-state our limits than over-state our services. This page is the honest boundary line: Westgate Financial Services is an operational accounting and bookkeeping firm, not a CPA firm — and here's exactly what that means.

Effective June 10, 2026 Scope-honest, in writing

1 · The boundary line

We are not a CPA firm, and we don't pretend to be.

Westgate Financial Services is an operational accounting and bookkeeping firm. Our work is the operational side of your numbers: bookkeeping, reconciliation, the monthly close, QuickBooks setup and management, financial reporting, and advisory about your operations. David Westgate is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with 40 years on real books — not a CPA — and no one at Westgate practices as a CPA.

That boundary is a feature, not a footnote. We make your books clean, reconciled, and CPA-ready, and we work alongside your CPA at tax time — we don't replace them, and we don't blur the line.

What we do

Bookkeeping & reconciliation

Books kept current, reconciled to source, cleaned up when they're behind or broken. Bookkeeping →

The monthly close & reporting

A reconciled close on a fixed cadence, with financial statements you can actually use. Accounting →

QuickBooks management

Setup, cleanup, migration, and ongoing management — QBO and Desktop, ProAdvisor-led. QuickBooks →

Operational advisory

What your numbers mean and what to do next — operations, cash, and reporting, not tax strategy.

What we don't do

Tax preparation, filing, or tax advice

We don't prepare or file returns and we don't advise on tax positions. That's your CPA's chair — we hand them clean books.

Audit or attestation

We don't perform audits, reviews, or attestation engagements — those require a licensed CPA firm.

Legal advice

Entity questions, contracts, disputes — talk to an attorney. We'll keep the numbers straight while you do.

Investment advice

We don't recommend investments or manage money. We make sure you know what your business's numbers say.

For tax, audit, legal, or investment matters, consult the appropriate licensed professional. When you have one, we coordinate with them — that's the normal arrangement, and it works.

2 · About the content on this site

General information, typical framing, indicative numbers.

General information, not advice. The pages, FAQs, and guides on this site explain how bookkeeping and operational accounting generally work. They aren't advice for your specific situation — that takes a real look at your actual books, which is what the free review is for.

Typical timelines, not guarantees. Where we describe how long things usually take or how engagements usually go — a cleanup running a few weeks, a close landing by the 10th — that's honest typical framing from real experience, not a promise about your file. Every set of books is different; your written scope is what commits us.

Indicative pricing, not a quote. The ranges on our pricing page are real and current, and they're indicative. Your exact fixed fee is set in writing after a free review — and that written number is the only one that binds.

3 · Credentials & trademarks

The credential is real — and it belongs to Intuit's program.

Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor is a real certification issued by Intuit Inc., and David Westgate holds it. It is an Intuit credential — not a state license, and not equivalent to being a CPA. We say exactly that, everywhere, on purpose.

QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and ProAdvisor are trademarks of Intuit Inc. Other product names mentioned on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. We reference them to describe real tools and a real credential; none of those companies endorses or is affiliated with Westgate Financial Services.
